Piano wire rods

Abstract

This Standard specifies piano wire rods (hereafter referred to as "wire rods") to be used for the manufacture of piano wires, oil tempered steel wires, steel wires for pre-stressed concrete, steel wire strands for pre-stressed concrete, wire ropes, etc. <br>NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows. <br>ISO 16120-1: 2011 <em>Non-alloy steel wire rod for conversion to wirePart 1: General requirements</em> <br>ISO 16120-4: 2011 <em>Non-alloy steel wire rod for conversion to wirePart 4: Specific requirements for wire rod for special applications</em> (Overall evaluation: MOD) <br>The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and <strong>JIS</strong> are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to <strong>ISO/</strong> <strong>lEC Guide 21-1.</strong>
