Title: Highly Sensitive Temperature Sensing Probe Based on Deviation S-Shaped Microfiber

Abstract: A deviation S-shaped microfiber was proposed and packaged in a capillary by glycerin solution. The high-temperature sensitivity performance was experimentally demonstrated. With the decrease in ambient temperature from 73.05 &x00B0;C to 23.46 &x00B0;C, the resonant dip on the transmission spectra red-shifts continually due to the co-operation between the refractive index increase of glycerol and the thermal expansion of packaging materials. The high sensitivity of ~11 nm/&x00B0;C promises high-sensitive monitoring of the slight temperature fluctuation in some specific biological and chemical reaction process.
